Houston, TX, April 29, 2013– Local rock bands, Strange Weapons and Hoofprints, along with two of Houston’s best comics, Ty Mahany and Dusti Rhodes, have come together to bring you an evening of rock ‘n roll and laughs. Come and help folks live out their dreams of being in That Thing You Do and on The Ed Sullivan Show. If you don’t know what these are, then you are probably either:
- Not old enough to get in; sorry it’s 21 and Up.
- Have seen the Outkast, “Hey Ya”, video and thought it was a brilliant, new, concept video.
- Normal; it is we who are the weirdos… We apologize for nothing…
- In denial of how awesome fun is, aka lame.
“Basically, we are putting on an old-school variety show, like The Ed Sullivan Show”, says Strange Weapons’ Joel Hoyle. He adds, “We have friends who are musicians, comedians, deejays, etc. Why not get together, have some fun, and see what happens? Hopefully; people will dig it. No pretensions, no bullshit, just good fun.”
Indie-rock band, Hoofprints, will kick the May 18th show off, with the comedians sandwiched in between the bands. Ty Mahany will also serve as Master of Ceremony, which, on its own, promises to be worth the price of admission (free).
